Interactive Experiences: A Free Interactive Birthday Card

← All Features

A text message says "happy birthday." An Interactive Experience makes someone actually do something to get there — blow out candles, scratch off foil, smash a piñata, unwrap a gift box — before your message appears with sound and confetti. It's the difference between reading a wish and unwrapping one.

15 reveal formats

Pick whichever fits the moment, or let the recipient's personality decide. Formats below link to their own page with a live demo you can try right now:

How it works

  1. Write your message (or generate one with the AI Wish Generator) and pick a reveal format.
  2. Optionally add up to 3 photos, plus a recorded voice message or short video (one or the other, not both), a synthesized Happy Birthday tune, a backdrop for the reveal page (14 AI-generated photo themes or any custom color), and style choices — accent color, headline font, text alignment, and layout — everything is automatically compressed to fit in one shareable link.
  3. Get a private link — no account needed — and send it however you'd normally message someone.
  4. They open the link, interact with the reveal (tap, scratch, shake, or unlock, depending on the format), and your message appears with sound and confetti.

Why it lands better than a text

A theatrical reveal creates a small moment of anticipation before the message appears — the same reason unwrapping a physical gift feels better than someone just handing you what's inside. It also signals effort: a plain "happy birthday 🎂" text takes five seconds to send, but a custom reveal page with your own photo and voice message clearly took more thought, and the recipient feels that difference immediately.

More ways to send a wish

An Interactive Experience is one message from one person. If several people want to sign the same card, Group Wishes lets each person add their own line, photo, and voice message before you send the finished, merged reveal. Setting up something with a date and location instead of a birthday message? Party Invitations use this same tap-to-open reveal with RSVP built in. And Time Capsule is a toggle on this same creator that locks the link until a future date instead of opening right away.

Frequently asked questions

Is the interactive birthday card really free?

Yes. Creating and sending an Interactive Experience costs nothing and doesn't require an account — you get a shareable link that works for anyone, on any device.

How long does the reveal link stay open?

7 days from when it becomes viewable, after which the link and any attached media are automatically deleted. The optional Encore add-on removes that deadline, keeping the wish online until you delete it yourself.

Can the recipient replay the reveal?

Yes — a "Watch it again" option lets them replay the full animation as many times as they like while the link is still open.

Does it work on iPhone and Android?

Yes, it's a normal web link that opens in any mobile or desktop browser — no app to install for the recipient.

Can I change the background of the reveal page?

Yes — when creating an Experience, you can optionally pick from 14 AI-generated photo backdrops (Wishing Well, Floral, Kids Party, Backyard BBQ, Balloon Rooftop, Confetti Carnival, Autumn Harvest, Beach Bonfire, Camping Stars, Dessert Table, Retro Disco, Space Odyssey, Under the Sea, and Unicorn Meadow) instead of the default green theme. They're purely decorative artwork, not photos of real places.

Can I customize the look of the reveal page beyond the backdrop?

Yes — you can optionally choose an accent color, a headline font (Elegant Script, Classic Serif, Modern Sans, or Playful), text alignment, and a layout (Centered Card, Photo on Top, or Photo Behind Text).
